Roof Tarps

Durable, Easy to Manage, and Waterproof Covers for All Roof Applications

When it comes to Roof Tarping following a hurricane, major storm, falling tree damage, or just a temporary solution until a new roof can be installed, we offer you a wide variety of Roof Tarps to help you meet the demands necessary to help you protect your home, garage, business or other structures.

While Roofing Tarps are good for preventing damage during repair or during large construction projects, it is a good idea to get a clear understanding of the depth of your project.

How to Tarp a Roof

When selecting your Roof Tarps, it is important to determine the extent of damage, and then calculate the dimensions of the Tarp coverage that will help prevent the potential for new issues including water damage as well as the possibility for mold, mildew and fungus that can take hold if not acting promptly to the damaged areas in a quick and effective manner.

To place your Tarp on a roof, you will want to also consider the durability, strength, and waterproof features needed to meet the expected time the Roof Covering will remain in place before a new roof can be constructed or the repairs made. For a longer duration of time, many contractors will select Poly or Vinyl Heavy Duty Tarps.

For emergency coverage that typically involves placement over shorter time periods, contractors frequently select lighter weight plastic poly tarps, as they are lighter and a little easier to handle, making these the ideal choice for emergency tarping of residential, commercial and industrial roofing jobs.

Tarps Now offers the largest selection of Light Duty Poly Tarps to help you quickly install your emergency Covers before water damages can take hold.

Please note that Roof Tarps are available in a number of materials, colors, weights, thicknesses and special features such as reinforced, fire retardant and clear tarps. In special situations, Utility Poly Tarps Tarps with strong equally spaced grommets within the hems around the entire perimeter allow for secure tie-downs of roof fixtures.

For extra-large project requirements, you can also order Custom Tarps to meet almost any size requirement or specification to meet your needs. This can be important when Stock Tarp Sizes are inadequate to meet industrial sized applications.

Installing Emergency Roof Tarps

In all instances, it is important to order a larger dimension than the area to be covered. The reason for this is that many roofers find it advantageous to roll the Tarp out over the roof area, then at the margins, roll the Tarp over 2 x 4 or other similar wood strips, after that staple or nail the Tarp to the strips attached to the roof to ensure it is held firmly in place.

At the opposite side of the Tarp, wrap the tarp around another strip, stretch tightly and fasten to the roof in the same manner. This creates a barrier that helps prevent water from seeping under the tarp, and otherwise helps ensure a good seal at the ends.
